Take part in a short walk on New Years’ Eve, from the town square at 10:30pm. With burning torches the procession follows a a decorated horses skull (‘Mari’), carried on a pole by the leader to the Victoria Wells Motel on the outskirts of Llanwrtyd Wells. There will be a re-enactment of the old Welsh tradition of ‘Mari Lwyd’, with an exchange of challenges in verse to gain admission and refreshment.
