Welshpool’s motte and bailey castle to be opened as tourist attraction

Work on a 12th Century motte and bailey castle in Welshpool, Powys will begin in the new year to convert the 900 year old castle into a tourist attraction with a new car park, information boards and walkways.

Welshpool Town Council in partnership with Powys County Council plan to have the castle open to visitors by Easter 2014.
